HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS March 26, 2021

Lake City 37 Goodhue 35-Lake City was down 17-12 at the half and 27-18 in the second half before rallying to edge Goodhue at Rochester Century High School.

Lilly Meincke hit two free throws with 43.8 seconds left to break a 35-35 tie and Lake City held on for the thrilling win.

Natalie Bremer led Lake City with 11 points while Lilly Meincke and Mya Shones added 10 apiece.  Grace Bany added six points.  Elissa Lodermeier led Goodhue with 12 points while Elisabeth Gadient added nine.

Lake City is 19-3 and advances to the state tournament for the first time since 1984.  They will find out their seeding and first round opponent Saturday.  The Tigers first round game will be either next Tuesday or Wednesday with the site to be determined.

Goodhue finishes the year at 17-5 with three of the losses coming to Lake City.
