action jack's Blog

Hello! I’m blessed to have been in the broadcasting business nearly 35 years with the last 20-plus right here in Red Wing.  I’m on the air from 2-6pm weekdays for the “Jacked Up” show on KWNG 106. I’m also the Q-Media Sports Director and do play-by-play broadcasts of Red Wing Wingers football, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls hockey, baseball and Red Wing Aces amateur baseball with a sprinkle of Goodhue Wildcats football and basketball as well. My pledge to the listening audience is to inform, educate and entertain and smile while doing it! By the way, my “Action Jack” nickname came from a boys basketball coach in Shawano, Wisconsin. I’ve been married 31 plus years to my wife, Gina. How she has put up with me all this time is one of life’s mysteries. I have two daughters. Kelly graduated college in 2020 from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and is now the Athletic Trainer and a paraprofessional at Oasis High School in Cape Coral, Florida. Courtney is a 2020 RWHS grad and is continuing her education at UW-Green Bay. Thanks for your amazing support over the years!
